B-R race & a ride

I went up to watch some of the Battenkill-Roubaix road race w/Kim, Jen, Ed, & Kevin Saturday. We hung out on a steep section of dirt road. We saw Terry, Bryna, Dave Belas, Art & Rizzi. Found out later Terry won Cat 5 (35+).

Then we did the cambridge 1/2 century 2 state loop. It was a really nice no killer climb loop. It's actually 55 miles. It was on the chilly side but no biggie. I'd like to get back up there again this year.

test

I think I will make my Snake hill road loop my fit test. Its 26 miles, with a bunch of rollers and a descent climb up snake hill.
I felt not so on for about the 1st hour so I was suprised I was only 50 seconds off my best time (July last year). So far, I have only did this loop maybe 10 times, so its not the best fit indicator.

26.45 mi
01:29:07 hours
17.80 mi/h

other #'s
1st half: 15.5 avg (about the top of snake Hill)
2nd half: 20.1 avg
time @ Junction 351/43: 1:02

I think I'll try to do that loop weekly, just to judge my progress (or lack of progress)

Easter Race

Heather's Easter Mtn bike race

We were not allowed to use the normal course, so we had to use a different section of the park (less climbing, less tech, less singletrack). It's where they hold CX races in the fall. The course was short (2.5-3 miles). Most laps in 2 hours, if you go thru at 1:59 you are doing one more lap! And only 3 cats: open male, novice male, and female.
I had a pretty good race, had one hard fall and spent most of the race doing my best to keep up with my friend Bryna...shes one crazy fast chick!
oh and the temp, pretty cold (25 degrees)

Male open:

1st: Art

2nd: Terry

3rd: me !

Female open:

1st: Bryna

I'm not sure of the other results

saddle time

Did a bunch of rides over the w/e.
Ride#1 was on the 29er SS with JimMac (26er SS) on lake side of the PineBush, nice and dry but slightly boring. short ride 1 1/4
Ride#2 I put slicks on the FS mtn bike, did 45 min's around the neighborhood
Ride#3 Was suppose tobe w/Christian but he had a bad day and was stuck somewhere with a flat car tire. So I went solo on the road bike, did my Plank-taberton loop backwards. Man talk about a long gradula climb. 42 miles
Ride#4 Was Heathers spring kick off ride, w/40 plus riders. I took the FS mtn bike w/slicks, my plan was to do the 30 mile ride at an easy pace. Add in 3 miles to the start, and missing at turn and Heather's underestimating the distance I did 42 miles...and was pushing it most of time, I didnt bring any food and i was hungry at the start = dumb ass & bonkage.
Party after at Rizzi's with some cool people & good food!
