Turkey Ride (race)

It was a real last minute decision but I opted to race instead of just watch.
Its been 6 weeks since I have been on my mtn bike......and it was suppose to be about 25 degrees out. There were a few cross bikes & a couple SS's . The race was 2 hours, most laps wins (24 hour rules)
I decided to race w/the big boys in the the "open" catagory, and I had hub issues from the start (any time I cranked hard the hub would skip, so most hills and log crossings I had to hike a bike)....so my ass got kicked
The course was fun, no big climbs, a bunch of bridges.........would have been real fun if I had a functioning hub, studded tires, and feet that were not forozen !!

Happy Turkey Day!

I did the troy turkey trot w/Debbie and her sister. It snowed about an inch & it was chilly (25 degrees). I am guessing 2500 people did the 5K, makes the start a traffic jam.....I am slightly disapointed with my time which was about 24:40. I'll check official results tomorrow

Sweet n Ice Century

pain......lots of pain. Heather & Jason somehow talked me into doing todays century ride, it was extra painful being I have barely been riding for the last 6 weeks, but I kept at it & finished.........my average was pretty slow (15.7) but i finished.
I was damn nice for the middle of Novemeber...high 40's and sunny, and a good turnout - 30 people including a couple of 1st timers. We had 2 sag wagons which so makes life easier.Then 25 of us went out for food after...including Jen.

Painful, fun, and challanging. And I am totally wiped.

work=sucks

Work was not fun the past 2 days! Tuesday was 11 hours (minus a 5 minute lunch) , today not much better - really sucks when a device (sonicwall tz170 firewall/NAT/security device) dies and your new backup for it comes out of the box not functioing- UGH!

Jogged Monday, lifted tonight and heading to volleyball shortly

Heathers century is this w/e but I am not doing it. I havent been riding much, plus I am wimpy about riding in the cold - however I am feeling bummed I will miss it.

24 hours in the Old Pueblo

I did this race last year, team of 5 coed..........we got 5th out of 40 or so teams which put us on the pdium! Our group of friends included 3 teams of 5. There is definite interest in going back, nothing definite set for teams yet - I'd like to go but have not made a decision yet.

volleyball

we played the new # 1 team, my team played prety good (I could have played better) We did WIN 3 of 4, which puts us in a tie for 1st! Yay!

jog

a jog after work, somehow my watch/tmer was reset midway. I like, maybe even need to keep tract of my times, so I was rather bummed. I did time myself for the last 2.5K, which I did in 11:54...pretty fast for me.

Then once home I did squat, its so easy for me to be lazy lately.

Dentist (cleaning/check up) after work......ack

Warm weather & Vail ?

its been so nice lately - high 60's in November rocks! In the past few days I went for a couple easy road rides, a jog, did some chores around the house...

My friend Ken wants to go to Vail, 5 days @ a condo sometime in January - that would freaking rock! I am sure I'd rather do Vail instead of going to Jamaica................and what if I can get on a team for 24 hours of Old Pueblo (AZ) in February?

weights & sponsorships?

That time of year again, did some weights (at home)....went light to not over do it. Felt pretty good.

A Halloween jog

I am almost back to feeling 100%.......so I actually did some exercise yesteray! A jog.......a Halloween jog thru the cemetery, Boo!
